I am nearing release of the next version of KeepNote (version 0.6.1).
Download files are available here:
http://rasm.ods.org/keepnote/download-test/
As always, please backup your notebooks before using a new version of
KeepNote. I have not experience any stability issues, but one should
always play it safe. You can use either KeepNote's backup feature, or
simply copy the notebook folder to another location on
your hard drive.
New features to look for:
This release is mainly about cleaning things up after adding a bunch
of features in version 0.6. The main addition is the improved
extensions system. My goal is to make adding/writing extensions for
KeepNote easier, so that other people can add new features. Menus and
dialog boxes where reorganized and cleaned up.
You can submit bug reports to the issue tracker:

Language notes:
- I now have French, Turkish, and Spanish translations. If you would
like to add your own, please checkout the information here:

Thanks for all your help and I look forward to your feedback,
Matt
Thanks for this bug report. I found the issue. Try the latest

Steps to recreate the problem:
Make sure no Firefox instances are running.
Open KeepNote and select Help > About and then click the url in the
about box.
After Firefox loads the page close KeepNote.
Try to start KeepNote while Firefox is still running and get an error
message about the lockfile being in use, KeepNote does not start.
Once Firefox is closed, KeepNote will start.
This problem does not occur if Firefox is running before doing the
Help > About step.
Examining the handles Firefox owns when launched by KeepNote, the
following two are interesting:
<path to application data folder>\takenote\lockfile
<path to application data folder>\takenote\error-log.txt
The contents of keepnote.exe.log after the error:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "keepnote", line 287, in <module>
File "keepnote", line 265, in main
File "keepnote\commands.pyc", line 352, in get_command_executor
File "keepnote\commands.pyc", line 337, in setup
WindowsError: [Error 32] The process cannot access the file because it
is being used by another process: u'D:\\Documents and Settings\\Rand\
\Application Data\\takenote\\lockfile'
Let me know if you need any other info.
Nice app. I looked at a lot of others but they were either lacking
essential features or bloated.
