to KeePassDroid
Hello,

First of all, thanks for writing KeePassDroid! It's great to be able
to access my passwords from my android phone. I have a few questions/
comments:

1) I started out writing this to say that KeePassDroid v50 would tell
me "Database format not recognised." when reading my kdbx file. After
running some tests to get some more info to help track down the issue
I found out it was because the file was created using KeePass Password
Safe v2.07 Beta. After upgrading to v2.12 and saving the kdbx file out
again, KeePassDroid can now recognise it. So in case anybody else is
running into similar problems just update your windows client to the
latest version.

2) You probably get asked this all the time but is there any scope for
adding auto-complete functionality like there is with the windows
client? With the windows client you can press Ctrl + Alt + A and it
will detect what website you are on and fill in the data for you. I
find it somewhat arkward to have to launch KeePassDroid, find the
entry I'm looking for in there then go back to the web page and paste
it in. It would be totally awesome if you could just have some kind of
shortcut that would prompt KeePassDroid to look up the login details
for the current web page and fill it in. Was wondering if there is a
technical reason why this can't be done or just if you haven't had
time to do it.

3) A search feature would be nice, I have tons of passwords spread
over about 10 groups or so. Admittedly I haven't sorted them all that
well simply because the windows version has a nice search feature that
makes me lazy :).

Keep up the good work!

Martin.

I'll looking into adding a more informative error message here. I
don't plan to go back and add support for the 2.07 databases, though.

There's not a great way to do this with the stock android browser. The
notification bar entries are my cheap workaround [1]. I have a couple
ideas for doing it better. First, I could implement an alternative
keyboard which could do the typing into the browser for you. Second, I
could have the application include it's own browser. This would
probably be a thin wrapper on top of the stock browser which would
include the mechanism to auto-type passwords.

I have no idea when/if I'll get to that, and there are at least 3
other large tasks ahead of it on my road map.

Try pressing the search key on your phone inside the app when your db
is open. Maybe I need to make that more obvious.

Thanks for the quick reply Brian,

Sounds like you're already on top of things. Thanks for pointing out the search feature, don't know why I didn't spot it before. I guess I was expecting to see a "Search" icon when I pressed the menu button.

Martin.
