Another work around is to install OI File Manager, then go through opening Keepass and select the .kdbx file you want to use as your db. Solution thanks to Simon:

Solved.
After installing another file manager app, OI File Manager in this case, I could choose files using either Google Drive, or OI File Manager. It appears that the Google Drive file selection API is not compatible, as I could select the kdbx file using OI File manager - under /sdcard/Android/data/com.google.android.apps.docs/files/ and the "File not found error" disappeared.

I have been using KeePassDroid for a while. After an upgrade to an LG Nexus 4 I find that I cannot open my kbdx files from Google Drive. I know it can do it, I did it on my SGS2 ok.
- Start KeePassDroid (1.99.7.2)
- Press open folder button, near top right of screen, Google's MyDrive selection list appears
- Choose kbdx file from list presented , and press 'Selection' button at bottom right of popup. Popup disappears. Path and filename are entered in database filename field.
- Press Open button
Error "File no found".
