Locked out of my KeePassDroid App

I installed KeePassDroid on my phone and for 7 months have enjoyed it immensely. Having recently lost my Kindle (with KeePass also installed), I tried to change my password for security reasons. However, now I am locked out from my inputed data as KeePassDroid will not accept either the new or the old password. ("invalid password or key file").  Furthermore, I even tried to start afresh ( accepting the fact that I may never be able to accsess the original data input)  by unistalling the app and re-installing the app and starting all over. But apparently the original installation keeps coming up on my phone which doesn't allow me access.  HELP!

I think there is a bug as I have a similar problem, which I fixed.

My problem was that my password _stopped_ working. It's the same password for the same file as I use on PC and iOS synched with DropBox. I even checked the hash was the same for that file.

So I installed Keepass2Android .. and the same password worked. Then I turned the phone off and on (Nexus 5 btw) and KeePassDroid worked again. So try each of those options and hopefully you'll get in.

There's plainly an issue under some circumstances with the app.

I have similar problem.  Sometimes the password/db combination works and sometimes it doesn't.  I have found that uninstalling and then reinstalling the ap has made the next login to keepass work every time (the first time after reinstall).  It is unclear to me when it quits working but it is only after somewhere between 1 and 4 or 5 logins.

Same problem here. Oddly I never had any problems with KeePassDroid on my old phone (circa 2011) and it worked for a while on my new phone (ca 2018) even using the fingerprint sensor. But once I added another finger to the system it stopped working, even with password, and even after replacing the key file. Thanks to Brendan I gave Keepass2Android a try. It lacks the fingerprint functionality but it just works.

Thanks, Brendon.  Keepass2Android worked for me, and once I ran it, KeePassDroid worked again.  (Android 7.0)
