Hello from Germany,

i've installed the Windows-Version of KeePass 2.x and stored the KDBX-
File to my local DropBox-Folder. On my Motorola Milestone I'm running
the Android-Versions of DropBox and KeePass. The KDBX-File was
successfully snychronized to my Android-SD-Card.

My Problem:

As soon as I'm opening the KDBX-File from my Android-SD-Card,
KeePassDroid starts and I'm able to open the Database with my
password. So far so good. But it's not possible to make any changes,
such as adding new categories or entrys in existing categories. The
(normaly shown) Buttons "New xxx" or "Add xxx" are simply not there

It seems to me, that the KDBX-File ist kind of write-protected??

I've checked this by a file-manager. The KDBX-File is NOT write-
protected!!

Has anyone here any ideas what's going wrong here?

It would be very nice if someone could help me :-)

thank you,
Michael

Hello,

.kdbx files are read-only, until I get around to adding support for
writing the database format.

As the developer stated earlier, you cannot do any changes to the
files. That means you cannot add new entries or delete entries on the
phone. You have to do that on your computer.

Check his site: http://www.keepassdroid.com/. It clearly states:

Do you support KeePass version >=2, .kdbx databases?

Yes. Beta read-only support for .kdbx databases was added in
KeePassDroid 1.5.

- Read only !

Thanks for your understanding ^_^.

Hello and mandy thanks for your replies.

As we say in Germany "if you can read you're in advantage" ;-)

I simply overlooked this …

I would be happy if KDBX-Files will be editable in te future.

Bye-

If you install version 1.17 of the KeePass desktop application it will
use .kdb files which can be read and written in KeyPassDroid.
