Hello,

having installed KeePassDroid on my Android smartphone, I found out
how I can copy some username from the KeePass database, leave KeePass,
start some browser, call a site and paste the username into some
username field.
Same thing for a password: I can copy some password from the KeePass
database, leave KeePass, start some browser, call a site and paste the
password into some password field.

But having copied and pasted the username, I have to leave that
website and return to KeePassDriod to copy the password. When calling
the website again in order to paste the password, the username has
been lost.

Please how can one transfer both username and password from
KeePassDroid to other apps in a single step?

Regards,
Matthias

How exactly are you switching from the browser app to KeePassDroid app back to the browser app?  It could be your phone is relaunching the browser and/or reloading the web page, thus wiping out your already entered username.

Try this:
1. Launch KeePassDroid, copy username from KeePassDroid.
2. Launch Browser, go to web page, paste username.
3. Important!  Do not hit the phone's Back key to get out of the browser.  Try to switch directly to KeePassDroid by long pressing the phone's Home key to bring up the last of recent apps.
4. Copy password from KeePassDroid.
5. Important!  Return to the browser by long-clicking the phone's Home key to bring up the list of recent apps.  Paste password into browser.

On my Motorola Droid (Verizon) I use an app called ClipNote which retains a list of every "copied item".

So, in KeePass I copy first the password and then the username. Then, return to the logon. The username, having been copied last, is first on the clipboard so I first position the cursor on the username blank and paste. I then access the ClipNote list of "copies" by pulling down "Notifications" and tapping on "Clipboard monitor active" -- ClipNote opens and I tap on the password (it will be second in the list, just below the last-copied username). ClipNote closes and I position the cursor on the password blank and paste.

It's even easier and already built-in to KeePassDroid:

1. Choose any record in KeePassDroid.

2. If the Username and Password fields are populated, notice two lock
icons in the status bar at the top of the screen.

3. Hit the home button, go into the browser, navigate to your web site.

4. Drag the status bar down and notice the two KeePassDroid rows, one
for username and one for password.

5. Touch the "Copy username to clipboard" row. It will disappear.

6. Touch and hold the username field on the web site until the paste
menu pops up, and paste.

7. Repeat steps 4, 5, 6 for the Password.

Voila.

This works fine.
Thank you.

Yes, indeed.

In this case, I did not launch the browser as such. But I tapped the
URL which I had stored in KeePassDroid.

So far this works. As I had launched the app KeePassDroid, it was
available in that list of recent apps.

Thank you.
This should have been possible if I had launched the browser as such.
But as I tapped the URL stored in KeePassDroid, no browser app was
available in that list of recent apps.

I will keep your helpful description in mind for future use.

This worked fine with stock browser on my Galaxy Nexus. Now that I've switched to the Dolphin browser the swipe top to bottom does something else. Does any know a fix for this? Thanks
