Expect nothing from O Cuiv

Hello KIo,
Those who think that Minister O Cuiv will somehow solve trhe access
problem shoulld think again. Before setting up the ill-starred CnaT
he stated that he wold not introduce legislation and that is the only
measure that will change the attitude of farmers. That is one promise
taht he has kept!
He even mused in the Dail jist before the last election (note the
timing) that he was not averse to seeing walkers pay to access land.
So much for his commitment to solve the access problem. He will, but
only as long as no farmer is disturbed.
Walkers, casual or otherwise should put no reliance on this man (or
the government for that matter). He will put no pressure on farmers
until he can see votes will be gained by doing so. And with the
subserviance attitude of the MCI there is little hope of this at the
moment.
