what is "Mac Update Installer"...?

Hello,

I wanted to try to update to the latest version of your Keep Drive Spinning,

but I get this "Mac Update Installer". Is this your real software, or some company

that is injecting spyware or unwanted hijackers in the install package.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I must have missed the notification that your message was pending approval.

No, that "MacUpdate Installer" file is NOT my software. Unfortunately, it appears that MacUpdate has implemented a new, horrible policy where they only provide proper downloads to MacUpdate members.
