Reportback day - for NDD family & 1st Gen

When we met informally with UN mission folks - last thursday night, we had a discussion thought of something more informal and in the friendly environment.

How's October 11, 2013 Friday?  However, the NDD office is not available...  It initially looks like NDD office will be available on Saturday. Is friday better for everyone?  What if we use the Blue Stockings for Friday, if available?  Hyejin from HOBAK will be in town in NYC from October 4-12 (leaving 12), and can also do a short report back on her trip to Gangjeong village struggle in Jeju Island.  

Hyun, could you let us know on availability on Saturday??

Everyone else, please chime in on the availability on Friday October 11, 2013.

Hi all,

Hope your wkds have been good! I have a slight change in plan and am going to try and visit Seattle the wkd before on oct 11-13. Is there any way we could try for oct 17 or 18 and send a date to 1st gens and NDD members early this wk? The other option is oct 4 but that is super soon!

I'm thinking NDD office for this one and emailing Jennifer abt a date in early nov for larger one.

Suzy has been compiling photos and will send to me via Dropbox so I can add music to it soon. Hope to see y'all at her book launch/talk next sat!!

JT wants our vids of us packing. I have mine on a mini dv that I'm gonna brig to her at office this wk.

oct 17 and 18 is much better for me!

Oct 17 there is a dance group there. Oct 18, we can do it as long as we are out of the NDD office by 7 pm. maybe we can think of another location for this one?

It works for me too!  So, the time is 6-8pm? 7-9 pm?  

Since it is an internal, smaller scale gathering, can we also try to do it at Blue Stockings?  Does anyone have a contact to Blue Stockings?

From my understanding, bluestocking space is an open space so unless they have a private room we can rent out, it might not allow us the little privacy we may want?

Dear KEEP dongjis,

Just a quick note to say thanks for coming out yesterday.
I was really touched that all of you (the entire NY group and more!) took the time to come out despite your busy schedules, and it really meant a lot to me to be able to celebrate with you all.
I hadn't even really thought of the event as a celebration, but being with you made it a true celebration, and now when people ask whether I had had a chance to celebrate getting the book out, I can say a definite YES.
I'm just sad that I didn't think to take lots of pictures (esp. considering my role as photographer during our trip...).
If any of you have photos from last night, please share.
It was really great to have a mini-reunion...  I feel loads better today and much more rejuvenated.

Aww Suzy it was so good to see you and so good to have a large portion of our group together! Congrats again and we will need to do a REAL turnup celebration next time ;) everyone showing up just demonstrates the importance of first celebrating your book and also of coming back together here in the home we reside in. 

In some ways it also made me miss our other dongjis even more... But I spoke to Caitlin after the event and she was really happy to hear all about it; wishing she could have been there too. I told her the date of the reportback is nov 9th and she really wants to come for it. I'm also going to try and get in touch with Ellen who was planning to be in nyc early November...

I took a few photos on my phone! Not very good quality and no crowd shots. I did get Suzy and boo boo Isaac tho! See attached!!
