Hello, Hellooooooow!!!

I just sent a long email only in Korean... So far 8 elders said they would come no matter what happens in their lives..... & yes, some Nodutdol members will be there too.

Just an FYI.  I notified NDD and KPT, that October 19 will be my formal ending day from KPT and for KEEP.  I am stepping back formally and this internal report back will be my last thing to be in charge.... ah, so sad and at the same time, so very happy!  lol.

Food - catering.  Okay, no problem.
Place & equipment - okay. no problem.  In NDD office, we still have the lighting problem - some of the lights are not working and it may be a bit darker than usual.  would be need a spot light???

But, Content & Format - .... ????

How do we want to do it?  similar to our fundraiser night?  What do we want to say it?  What is the flow of the night?  Can you all let me know how this night will go?   It's internal - so we can use this as a prepping for the larger public report back, or we can use this as a strategically bouncing off our ideas.  The audience we have is extremely friendly people, so, we can do anything with these folks.

How about sharing three highlights of fun, learning moments, of challenges.  - each of us can choose three or four photos and put them together and talk about it by category.

or we can pick a theme and report on each different theme

I also think, Betsy, we need to say something about overall program - since it was the 10th trip, what we have learned through the program itself, lessons learned, remaining challenges, etc.  What do you think?  Or, we can also say about the overall trip - explaining itinerary, the dominance of female members from NK side, how things have changed - interactionwise, etc....  Or what would you like to do?

I would like to say a bit on what I have learned through the program personally over the years.   I will write a few points on it and share.

And then we can also have ground sharing time - possibly, on their thoughts of reconciliation, prospect of "diasporic sparkle," etc......  any ideas on this discussion ???   I think last time at the fundraiser, when we did go-around, it was very meaningful and great things came out..

okay, that's what I am thinking right now.  Let me hear what you all think!  Thank you, thank you!

and YES, JT, you will also have to say a few things at this report back too, and perhaps, show some clips of us, or a few good interviews.  does not have to be edited yet.....

xoxo, Juyeon

hmm....  I got an email question re what time the event - I used in some email 6, 6:30, and 7pm.....

what was our decision?

was it 6pm for a reason?  can I set it for 6:30pm?  (with food and all, it seems like it would start around 7pm.....)

let me know!

my best friend's 30th bday is that same night, so I'd prefer to start early so I can try to jet out early as possible. :p So I vote for either 6pm or 6:30pm!

As for the program content:
"sharing three highlights of fun, learning moments, challenges.  - each of us can choose three or four photos and put them together and talk about it by category" <---sounds good to me!

"And then we can also have ground sharing time - possibly, on their thoughts of reconciliation, prospect of "diasporic sparkle," etc......" <---If this is alluding to the go-around we did with everyone in the room, then I like that idea! However, I can't think of a question right now that we can ask the group, but I wonder if we can ask them to write/say one (or two) question(s) they had/have for us (after hearing our 3 highlights)?

Hi all,

Thx Juyeon for getting us thinking abt content!!

Vey quickly bc I'm abt to get on a plane: let's say food at 6 and program begin at 7 with the understanding that foo will start at 6:30 prob and program at 7 or 7:15 latest! I'm hoping we will end by 9 and be out by 9:30 so Rej can get to his  party. With that in mind, I was also hoping this could be a strategy session to get membership invested in the revitalization (is tht the right word?) of NDD; framing the conversation with the work toward tongil and our recent experiences.

Strategy session doesn't necessarily always have to be equal to many hours so let's see what we can do with the time.

I'll write more details while I'm on the flight about content.

Please excuse typos; sent via mobile.

Hey all! Sorry for chiming in late -- I can say a few words about the program and it being the 10th year. I can also talk about how the program evolved, and then say a few specific words about this trip in particular?

Let me know if there's something in particular you'd like me to highlight in terms of how the program evolved!

Just thought to add explanation.

Sharon - do you think you can facilitate the strategy session?

Do we know who are coming from NDD membership?   First gen folks - Rev. Tongkyun Kim; Alex Kwanho Choi, Rev. Meeil Lee, Kisung Chung (maybe), Chunhee Noh, Sonia Jang, Sookbok Kim, Mr. Sukwoo Chun, Mr. Kibong Choi (maybe).  So, 7 people confirmed, 1 maybe.
