Dear friends and neighbors, It was great to see those of you who attended our Fall Gathering last Sun at Remillard Park.  We had a lovely time chatting and reviewed some emergency concerns and issues as well. Bill and Virginia Baker spoke about their experience taking the CERT classes for Disaster Preparedness.  Here are some points that we decided need prompt action: 1) PHONE LIST UPDATE:  at the gathering westarted updating the phone tree list. But we need your help.  PLEASE let me know if you , or your neighbors have moved, have new neighbors, or new phone numbers, etc., AND if anyone on the block is not on the googlegroup list, or does NOT have a computer, so that Mary Jane Brimhall can make the changes and distribute an accurate list. 2) EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS CACHE: We need a good core group of neighbors who are familiar with the cache (at #745) and can operate the generator.  If you are interested in participating in this, please let me know when you can meet with a group to do so. 3) CERT TRAINING (Community Emergency Response Training):If you are interested in taking the CERT classes after the first of the year (class dates and topics not set yet,) but you may visit the Berkeley fire dept website to check on it. The class topics and outline are there, and I have paper copies as well. 4)CLUSTER CAPTAINS:  Need to enact Cluster Captains- meet before the end of the year. Jody Adams will help organize the meeting.
