DESCRIPTION:
"Nosferatu with Radiohead: A Silents Synced Film" pairs the classic silent film "Nosferatu" with music from Radiohead's albums "Kid A" and "Amnesiac", creating a unique cinematic experience where the music is synchronized with the film's visuals; this project is part of the "Silents Synced" series which focuses on pairing silent films with modern music.
The count with a penchant for sucking blood, like all the good horror villains who have followed in his footsteps, refuses to stay dead. “Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror,” F.W. Murnau’s celebrated silent-era vampire film, has been given new life for the 21st century: Its orchestral classical score has been replaced by Radiohead’s dense and moody albums “Kid A” and “Amnesiac.” (Los Angeles Times)
NOTES:A "Silents Synced" film, meaning the classic silent movie "Nosferatu" will be presented with a specially curated soundtrack from Radiohead's "Kid A" and "Amnesiac" albums.
The count with a penchant for sucking blood is Count Orlok, a character in the 1922 silent film Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror. The film is about the mysterious vampire who summons Thomas Hutter to his castle in Transylvania to buy a house near Hutter's wife, Ellen.
Nosferatu was an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula. The film helped popularize the word "Nosferatu" as an archaic Romanian word for "vampire".
