Hi,

I am trying to catch memory leak issues in Andorid devices. I am using kmemleak for that purpose. But that is the only tool I have. I was exploring and came to know about this tool called KEDR. Can you please provide me some info about this tool. And also if you have any suggestions on how to catch memory leak, that will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Avijit

Hello,

The KEDR now is only for intel X86 architecture. If you want to use it in Android, you have to develop its core code with ARM instructions or others.

Thanks,
He Chuan

Thanks for responding.

Do you know any other tool to check for memory leak ? Also is there any project going on to port KEDR to android?

Thanks,
Avijit

Maby you can ask in the Linux kernel mail list.

I haven't tried Kmemleak tool on Android myself but perhaps it is possible to use it there. See https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/kmemleak.txt

Kmemleak is included into the mainline kernel and seems to support ARM as well.

Eugene

Oh, I missed that you are using kmemleak already. Never mind. Well, as far as I know, it is currently the only production-quality memory leak detector that works on ARM.

Eugene
