Hi everyone Whats the deal??? Lets get this back on track

Social Chair - What do you have in store? I would like you to plan an actively at least once every two weeks. The nature of it is up to you but what do you think the general board wants to see??? What are people yearning for? At your earliest convenience can you please send a rough list of ideas over this list-serv so we can all discuss which ones would be best. We need ideas before we plan events.

Religious Chair - Whats going on with Beit Midrash? It was great learning with Elad but only Elana and me were there. Was this a bad week or is their just no interest? Also, is it sustainable to have Elad teach us something every week? Are you thinking of any other religious orientated activities maybe a shalshudes, havdalah, oneg...

Community Service Chair- Kosher troops was great and it was fun interacting with the aephi girls. Is their anything else on the agenda maybe a service day, or somewhat regular volunteering? Is kosher troops a one time thing ( I think we can replicate it and should)?

Ari - Hows it going with minyan? I think making use of facebook and texting are great ways to insure a minyan for friday.

Elana- hows the budget? We need one to know what we can spend (were not the US senate). Additionally if you would take on the role as cheif kedma fundraiser it  would be spectacular (somewhat serious not completely)

EVERYONE - Lets get our "stuff" together so we can tell the entire kedma community and get the ball rolling. Sorry if my email is hard to understand I am not use to sending these types of emails and my grace will improve as the year goes on.

Hey All,

Thanks for starting the email chain, Max. In case you guys didn't receive my emails from last week and early this week, here it is again:  I'm thinking we should partner with CFH at least once more, we raised $120 last week and I think it would be great if we could send twice that early next month, so that Kedma will have made a really meaningful contribution to Kosher Troops in time for Pesach, when the organization gets super involved in sending care packages and sponsoring sedarim. CFH welcomed us to join them any time throughout the semester to raise money for whichever organization we would like to raise money for so let's keep thinking about other groups we'd like to support.Unless anyone has an objections, I'm going to have Sara at Hillel hold on to the money until the next time we add money to the pot, and we can then make a check contribution to Kosher Troops next month and add a letter from Kedma.

I also want to suggest a Book Drive through Worldwide Book Drive, an organization that Jason pointed me to, and I'm working on securing a date at Miriam's Kitchen, and trying to build a relationship with GWU Hospital to start a monthly bikkur-cholim partnership. Feel free to share your ideas. I'm going to send out suggested dates next week.

See Ya,

Aviv

I'm not here this Shabbos. I'm still going to organize minyan, but we're down a few. Last week was a fluke. We had five people confirmed for minyan, which sucks, but it happens. Let's not have a repeat, sound good? Mincha's at 5:15 tomorrow.

Still looking into making Shabbos Mincha/Shalishudis with Meor. Will let you know when we make headway.

Gut Shabbos!

Love,
Wolfy

Max-thanks so much for taking the initiatie and sending this email-love it!
as for the budget- When I went to ask about it I was told our budget was destroyed by Succote. Having said that, if we have programs worthy of funding the Hillel is willing to work with us but we first need to present the idea and then receive the funding. Also, Jason has mentioned he has another source of funding so we can potentially use that if Jason agrees that our events are worthy of that funding. (Possibly for our seudah shlishit/micha, or our rosh chodesh minyan.)
See you all on shabbat!

Money has never stopped before from building community and putting on great events.  Just let me know and I'll work things out with you.  Or I like the tooth fairy (aka Jason) idea too.

Max - thanks for getting this going!  And everyone's contributions are tremendous!
