Please let us know if you are interested to partake in the Chingay Parade 2012 - Community Ribbon Dragon Dance Segment. Each year, the People's Association organises the Chingay Parade to showcase the rich, vibrant multi-culturalism of Singapore as well as exciting cultures from different parts of the world. Over the years, the Chingay Parade has grown to be a massive street parade, displaying a stunning array of street floats, dancers, percussionists, lion and dragon dancers among the many different types of performers.
The Chingay Parade 2012 will take place on 3rd and 4th February 2012, at the F1 Pit Building. The event will be graced by our Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Day 1 and our President, Dr Tony Tan on Day 2.
Kebun Baru Constituency will be putting up a "Community Ribbon Dragon" during the parade this year and would like to invite youths from our constituency to participate in the event. There will be 5 rounds of rehearsals/training sessions culminating to the actual parade in February.
We would need around 7 participants to take part in the dragon dance where the Community Ribbon Dragon that was sewed together with over a thousand ribbon balls handmade by our Kebun Baru WEC. We really hope you can be one of Kebun Baru representatives running the Community Ribbon Dragon representing our Kebun Baru Division.
My apologies on the short-notice as there will be a rehearsal on the 13th Dec 2011, 7pm at the F1 Pit Building, two-way transport can be provided from our Kebun Baru CC at 6pm - 9.30pm.
Please let me know if you have any enquiries pertaining to the performance segment. After 13th Dec 2011, there will be one more training session in end Dec and end and three more full-dress rehearsals in 7th and 14th January and 2nd Feb. In total will be 5-6 sessions, the two training sessions will be around an hour at our CC, rehearsals will be slightly longer normally from 7pm - 9.30pm at F1 Pit Building.
