BlaMA (Blackshaw Mutual Aid) group setup on Facebook - and WhatsApp - please join!

Hi all,

I've just set up a Facebook group with the following description: "This is an ACTION-BASED group for residents of Blackshaw Parish, Calderdale West Yorkshire looking to help each other out (initially during the Covid-19/corona virus pandemic).

The idea is that we will use this to help each other. This is in addition to the Google Group and any other existing Blackshaw Facebook Groups. Not intended as a replacement. Some people may not want to get posts about Covid 19 (stress levels etc.), but to still stay in touch with the community.

Also, there is a WhatsApp real-time chat group for time-critical discussion and urgent issues:

Anyone with this link can join the chat group. So share, but only to people that you trust.

Note: you can use WhatsApp on a computer, but you do need a smartphone to set it up.

I've kickstarted this, but I'm not in any sense 'running' it. It's everyones. I'm hoping that it can be self-supporting. Any group member can respond to join requests. There are currently no admins. PLEASE DON'T ASK ME TO ADD YOU. Just go to the link above and request to join. Any member can then approve your membership. We'll see how that goes...
