KEA 2013 Onam Celebration - Rules for Pookkalam and Painting Competition

Dear All,

As usual, inter-college Pookkalam competition and painting competition for children will start at 10AM on KEA Annual day, Wednesday 2nd October 2013.

Please find below the rules for these competitions.

Rules for Pookkalam Competition – KEA Annual Day, 2^th Oct. 2013 at Nimhans Auditorium

 

1.            Teams representing different alumni of Engineering colleges are eligible to participate.

2.            Desiring teams should register before the event with Kannan (9901822433) or Shaju (9845147346).

3.            The competition would start at 0900 Hrs. and would end at 1200 Hrs. on 7^th Oct. No extension of time would be permitted.

4.            The teams should make their own arrangement for procuring the flowers. An amount of Rs. 500/- will be provided by KEA towards expenditure.

5.            The maximum size of the pookkalam would be 5’ x 5’.

6.            Flowers, leaves and other parts of plants can be used for the floral arrangement. Materials like rangoli powder,salt are not permitted.

7.            The teams should ensure that the leftover materials are removed soon after completion of pookkalam.

8.            The entries would be judged by a panel constituted by KEA and the decision of the judges would be final.

9.            There will be three prizes namely, 1^st Prize, 2^nd Prize and 3^rd Prize. If there is a tie, the prize money will be shared ensuring that the amount per team is not less than the amount given to a team winning the lower prize, where applicable.

Rules for Painting Competition for children of alumni– KEA Annual Day, 2^th Oct. 2013 at Nimhans Auditorium

 

1.            The competition is open to children of the alumni represented in Kerala Engineers’ Association, Bangalore.

2.            The competition will start at 1000 Hrs. and end at 1200 Hrs.

3.            Children desirous of participating in the competition should reach the venue before start of the competition and give their name along with parent’s name to Kannan (9901822433) or Shaju (9845147346).

4.            There will be two separate categories for the competition; one for children below the age of 8 and the other for children aged between 8 and 16.

5.            The topics for painting for the two categories are given below:

 

a)    For children below 8 years -  “ Nature”.

     It can be a painting of landscape, trees, plants, animals etc.

 

b)    For children between 8 to16 years – “A Village scene or A Festival scene”.

6.            Drawing paper and crayons will be provided by the organizers at the venue. However, children are free to bring their own crayons/water colours.

7.            The entries would be judged by a panel constituted by KEA and the decision of the judges would be final.

8.            1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and consolation prizes will be given for the two categories.
