| | 2nd International Congress on Cognitive Behavioral CoachingWe are honored to announce the 2nd International Congress on Cognitive Behavioral Coaching (CBC) which will take place in Athens, Greece, June 16-19, 2016! |
|
| Welcome Letter This is the second international congress in the field of cognitive behavioral coaching. This edition will be organized by the Hellenic Institute for Rational-Emotive and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (HIRECBT) in collaboration with its Hellenic Center for Cognitive Behavioral Coaching and the International Association of Cognitive Behavioral Coaching (IACBC). The HIRECBT is an affiliated member of the Albert Ellis Institute in New York and in the past year started organizing systematic coaching services for diverse populations through research, training and practical applications based on the standards of the IACBC, the International Coach Federation (ICF) and the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). For the last decade, the HIRECBT is a Center for Excellence in training, research and practice for diverse professionals and academics in evidence-based frameworks of practice. The Congress will be hosted at the Divani Acropolis Hotel, one of the most historical and congress-oriented hotels in Central Athens. The Divani Acropolis Hotel has hosted numerous National and International Congresses including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and related events with huge success. Following the lead of the 1st International Congress in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, this Congress promises to provide highlights of the full breadth and depths of Cognitive Behavioral Coaching as it is applied across and within many contexts and settings (i.e. health, education, executive). Scientists, practitioners and colleagues from around the world will gather in Athens, the birthplace of ancient philosophy, to exchange ideas, to forge new and to strengthen valued past networks and collaborations.
After many years of CBT, there is a window of opportunity that provides a standpoint for looking at the future of CBC with a wider variety of audiences. Already, within a short period of time, CBC appears promising in academic, research and applied contexts. Our goal will be to continue the well established tradition of the Cognitive Behavioral Approaches to the coaching field by providing a guide to well-being and an evidence-based framework in living more efficient and flourishing lives. The 2nd International Congress of Cognitive Behavioral Coaching aspires to be a stimulating and productive event from a scientific, cultural and social perspective. The program includes keynote addresses, roundtable discussions, panel debates, symposia, open papers, poster sessions, pre-congress and in-congress workshops, "meet the expert" encounters and other surprises covering an array of cognitive behavioral coaching applications. We are delighted to be able to host the second International Congress of Cognitive Behavioral Coaching and we look forward to your joining us in Athens, Greece in June 16-19 2016. Sincerely, On behalf of the Scientific & Organizational Committees, President for the 2nd edition of ICCBC, Chrysoula Kostogiannis, Ph.D., RECBT, Ellis Scholar Director, Hellenic Institute for RECBT & Hellenic Institute for RE & CBC Athens, Greece Honorary president for the 2nd edition of ICCBC, Prof. Arthur Freeman, Ed.D., Sc.D., ABPP Chair, Department of Behavioral Medicine Midwestern University Downers Grove, Illinois and Glendale, Arizona |
