Thank you Mehmet.

I have found the same -- pain softens

Yes, please do forward to various lists or networks. I am not an IACP

member for example; or the Academy; and on and on. Whatever moves you -- Your connections

are vastly greater.

I would ask only that you share a little of your reactions or views

when you send it because people trust you and will listen ...

My best

Hi Steven,

I guess those who have experienced pain in their lives and who have learned how generous pain could be are the ones who really have the sense of compassion.Your TED talk took me to my own journey of similar life events..It is really impressive my friend.

I believe that" thought is like a staircase that may me most enlightening or most confusing.Instead of climbing these stairs which might lead to higher capacities inherent in human beings,if one stands still on it,this is like blocking the flow of the running water. When we get stuck in our rigid beliefs,it becomes difficult to benefit from them".

I will certainly share this touching link with different listservs .

Warmest wishes

Mehmet

The TED talk below tries to present the psychological flexibility model

that underlies ACT through the lens of my own story.

The talk takes a painful journey into my own panic disorder,

to the very moment in my life when I make this life changing choice: I will not run from me.

This was the hardest talk that I ever gave. If you look at it, I think you will understand why.

I'm sending it to you in the hopes that it will be useful to you in helping to

explain the emotional core of ACT and the psychological flexibility model to clients or colleagues

This is the link ...

If it moves you I'd ask that you forward it, but if you do that please add your own reactions and recommendations.

Peace, love, and life
