ini idea bodoh.

* Macam mana you nak merge a durian with a mango and a chiku?
(an analogy)

(means idea not practical and difficult to implement. Just a populist
approach je for those supporting or talking about the idea).

* The thing is you can explore all the ideas in the world, but
if your diagnostics of the problems are wrong in the first place,
BN would be wasting time. You won't get the results.

* As I said before, it is NOT the process, but the PEOPLE issue
you got to sort out first.

* If BN still get the crooks to still do the talking on its
behalf , the majority of the rakyat will just shut off. Kalau
dengar pun, masuk telinga kiri dan keluar telinga kanan=C2=85So our =20
dear PM should sort that out first beginning with the cabinet
appointees.

* Now the thing about "ending" race based politics is
that there are other things you can do besides merging the BN
component parties.

* Race based politics can be done either OPENLY or SILENTLY.

* Parties like DAP and even PAP, do it "silently". (On
the otherhand, UMNO, MIC and MCA do it "openly")

* What I meant by silently? Even though they (DAP & PAP) claim
to be a multiracial party, the reality is that there are only a few
token minorities in their parties? Does that make them less racist?
(Yes, on the surface aje).

* Sure, they don't talk about Chinese should do this or do =20
that, they talk about Malaysians (or Singaporeans), when addressing
their crowds. Is this the way to appear less racist then?

* Meaning UMNO can also adopt the same tactic if it wants to.
(silently instead of openly)

* UMNO can do it through 2 ways.

* One way is to tukar je nama UMNO from United Malays National
Organisation to United Malaysian National Organisation (and open
the party to non-Malays).

* Then talk about Malaysians instead of Malays from then
onwards.

* Even if UMNO were to do that, the reality is that it will =20
still be a Malay-based party with the majority of Malays still forming
the membership base. And with a big Malay majority base, they will
still vote Malays to be its leaders. But with some token
minorities in there. Jadi Macam DAP or PAP. Is that the way forward
then?

* Another option about minimizing (instead of ending race based
politics), is to not focus on the party (whether merging BN or =20
opening up UMNO to non-Malays), but instead focus on your approaches.

* How? Be more mindful when you addressing your crowd. (Coz in
the borderless world it is difficult to segregate your target
audience. Saying certain things about the Malays when you're =20
targeting them as your crowd, will also be heard by the non-Malays, thus
may upset them)

* How? Instead of saying Malays should do this or do that, use
the term umat Islam from now onwards. (since 99% of Muslims are
Malays, you're still targeting the Malays when using that =20
term). Then less racist right? Haha=C2=85

* This race based issue I think has been blown out of
proportion. For the majority of people who didn't vote BN, I
think the strong perception of corruption and lack of good
governance is the key issue, not race based politics.

* Assuming if it is true that for decades, the Chinese support
towards BN has never been more than 30% (I remember reading this
somewhere), then analyse why. The issue is not about the party
being racist but the POLICIES of the parties that they deem to be
racist. (So solving or merging component parties won't solve
the problem unless you tackle the POLICIES themselves! That is also
another reason why I said the merger idea is an idea
bodoh=C2=85hehe).
