What's the status of KSecretService ? is it stuck because of Frameworks?

Do we have any plan to put it in production for 4.9 ? How the migration will
be handled?

If I remember correctly the current Wallet API will still work right? should
we port applications to new api anyway?

Final question, does KSecretService have a new interface? or it uses KWallet's
?

Thanks !

It is a released part of KDE SC, but nobody seems to have packaged or
tested it. I think it should be removed from KDE SC until it is
better tested.

Yes using the new API means we can finally have cross desktop password storage. Gnome Keyring already supports secret service DBus API.

It has a new DBus API and a new library with API for clients.

In Kubuntu it's in the kubuntu-ppa/experimental PPA, I'm not aware of other distros that have packaged it.

There's also a list for it which is pretty quiet
https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/ksecretservice-devel

ksecrets does not seem to have a GUI or config tool.

Kubuntu also has a bug asking for KSecretsService added to the kwallet KCM.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/+bug/934448

But I am yet to find how to do that.
