Hi All,

Trust everyone is doing great.
I have a question for you all, Are you returning the worksheets back
to the students after recording their scores????

I just put this question to some veteran instructors and they laughed
at my question. No one I know is returning the worksheets and frankly
speaking it is taking me a lot of time to organize the sheets to
return them back to the students.

Another question.... Are you participating in the March Open House. If
you are, how are you preparing for it.

HI Mini,

In the beginning, I tried to return the worksheets to parents but most
of them refused to take them. About a month ago or so, I spoke to one
of the instructors in our area and she told me that she stopped doing
it a few years ago when she realized that some parents use the
worksheets on the siblings that are not registered at the center. So,
I just quietly stopped giving them out :)

Hi Mini,

After the worksheets are entered into CMS, we highlight the first page to show that it was entered. If everything has been corrected, then we place them in the back pocket of their plastic folder. The next time the students come to class they take out everything in the back pocket folder (entered work and new homework) and put it in their Kumon pouch to take home.

We don't have a problem with parents keeping them and using it on their siblings. Many families sign up younger siblings when they are old enough to get the true Kumon experience. Most of the parents I talk to either throw them away or keep them in order to review old material (esp in Reading). They've paid for the worksheets, so I believe it's important to give it back to them.

We are participating in the March Open House Event. Here's a list of some of things we've done and will do:
-distributed flyers at all the public libraries and local business with the same demographic
-posted the event on websites and mommy blogs
-our A-sign is out every day with flyers to take
-the event has been communicated to our current parents in our monthly newsletter
-all phone and email inquiries are told about the event
-contact RIF representative to help promote event
-contact local schools/PTA
-continue flyering

Best,
Sunim
