Wonderful news Krishnan !  When are you planning to open?
The lease has gone back to the landlord and hopefully we will get it back next week.  My build out should not take too long as the landlord will do everything and the permits will be issued faster this way.

Hey Bala- I missed the memo (for opening day of the 17th)- hmm, might have to work that into the general scheme of things!!!

Well, slips happen b/w the lip and the cup and I may end up happening to open on a date later than Jan 3rd (although I hope not!).

No, no stay with the 3rd. That was my original date too, but we are going mid December as a family to Kenya and Tanzania - wild animals beware!! Return only on Jan 2nd, so I want a couple of weeks to settle in.

Hi everyone,

My opening was November 1. I did a lot of advertising (Mail, piano
flyers, Halloween gifts given to daycares, etc.). So far, I have 4
registered kids (one double subjects) and I have some parent
orientations next week. I've interviewed three more kids but they left
the center to think about it before commiting. I also had a few calls
but they all wanted to talk to their partners before even coming to
the center for a FREE placement test :(

Things are better than I expected though.

I have two assistants right now. They will each wrok one day a week
until I have more kids enrolled and can give them more hours. They had
a training at the branch but nothing works bettr than practically
doing it at the center.

Opening the center was a lot of work though. I am finally completely
set up and have almost nothing else to do in the center (in terms of
clean up, etc.). I am still waitng for my primary signage though. It
will be installed next week.

Btw, I realize that a lot of the stuff they told us are not
implemented yet. I had to ask them to remove the `Junior Kumon`option
from my e-Page. It was still mandatory on Kumon`s web site.

Thank you Bala for starting the conversation.

I opened my centre on November 3. I got 7 students plus 3 transfers plus my own two kids. Thankfully , things went smoother than expected. Got a good support from my branch manager.

Wonderful, Lofti and Ben. You are way ahead of most of us. We started our first center 11 years ago with our 3 kids only and are now reaching 900. I am sure the same will happen to you. Good luck and be sure to keep in touch.

Hi everyone 

Good to see so many participations in a  conversation. I opened my center on Nov 1st. I have had very good first week with new enrollments and transfers. Interesting conversations with parents. I guess we can start another chain on that subject. 

How are you accepting the payment?& I have had most parents sign up for EFT. Only one parent wants to pay through credit card.

Regarding support from Kumon I don't have any complaints. However there is lot re- org going on here. Everyone seems to be more busy within themselves.

Yes, we are going to be on the same on-line training I think. It's on
the 15th, right?

It's a bit of a headache for me because I already started with CMS2
and after only one month, I have to switch to CMS standard :( I wish
we could do it in October or something :)

We have our check-in assistant answer phone calls even during class hours. If it gets busy and the assistant can't pick up the phone, then we make sure that we check the voicemail messages. Parents do tend to call to let us know if they'll be late, picking-up, absent, etc.

BTW, we just switched over to CMS Standard online and the adjustments are a BREEZE! A great upgrade from CMS 2! (and the test wasn't bad either)
