Hi folks- is anyone having trouble accessing the online quizzes and tutorials for the worksheets for days 5-8? Also, in my earlier training, against the last (or second to last tab), where it says worksheets days 1-4, it says 'pending completion approval". Is anyone else encountering the same?

Fast work, Krishnan!

I am not able to access the Curriculum section either and was assuming it would be set up after this week's conference (KU is virtually shut down!).

In fact, for Day 1-4 Curriculum, all my Online Calss modules show "In Progress", even though I had completed them. When I asked Jeremy about this, he said that those people that used Firefox were having this problem. He suggested I view all the online classes again using Internet Explorer. I watched 3A and 2A classes from start to finish and even after that the status has not changed, so I am not doing any more. Can anyone in the group share insight on this?

Hi Bala- thanks! It makes sense now- the conference in Vancouver- of course!

 

All the online videos were showing "In progress" if I did not run them all the way through on IE and click on prompts as needed (They seem to act as checkpoints). So, I don't run ahead and skip portions of chapters- I respond to prompts/puzzles/anything clickable!

Of course, I will test this out some more when I get access to the rest of the quizzes!

I am not able to access any of the courses either.  Also, has anyone started on the CMS2 certification?  Question 4 on the database excercises says to input Kristy's scores for math.  Why does it have OR2 on the data entry?  The next question asks us to enroll her for reading.
Is it just a mistake or am I missing something?

Hello Krishnan!

 

You may need to contact the KU department about this problem.  I am in Teaneck and have been having issues with iKumon in general.  They may not respond back as quickly because they are in Vancouver, but do keep them informed, so they can address the issue as soon as they are able to.

Apologies for the silence,but I was trying to give others a chance...where is our "resident troublemaker" Sam? Are you not on the group? My comments on various tasks at hand...

1. Business Plan and Workbook - had completed and approved before the first training, as I thought it was due! Nandini needed help with the spreadsheet - so can someone reach out and give her a hand? Nandini, I offered to walk you through on the phone, but I guess the timings did not work? I can help Aug 10 onwards, but it may be late. Reach out to your branch too. They have marketing people who can assist with the last few tabs in the workbook.

2. Have identified my site and walking through tomorrow and doing the Site Evaluation with pictures etc. Kumon may pre-approve your site based on the address. You will need to fill up the form (if anyone is unsure, I can attach it) and submit to your branch. Don't make any leases final...Kumon can take a while to approve the language. Try to use your own lawyer to review the lease submitted by the landlord, as it is usually one-sided. Try to get a 3-year lease with an option for another 2-3 years (not a 5 year lease up-front - things change in 3 years!). Ask about free rent and time for build-out (an extra month free?) and/or ask the landlord to pay for the buildout. Since Kumon does not want us to have a separate Junior Kumon room (I personally do not like this, as little kids can be playful!), all you need is a small parent waiting area with 2 walls and a door, paint and carpet.

3. Worksheets - done with Math and half of reading. Trying to get it done by this weekend. Don't forget to use Internet Explorer for the Online Classes and do not skip anything, otherwise they will continue to show "In Progress".

4. Finalise your In Center Training asap with your branch. You have to do 8 classes sequentially at the same center and do some case studies etc. I have huge logistical problems, since I am going to Europe for 2 weeks next week and have exactly 8 class days. If I miss any, I may not be allowed to attend the next training cycle, so I have to do it, as I like training with you guys!

5. Furniture - everyone will have different options/budgets/design ideas etc. - just to share, we bought all our tables from www.dallasmidwest.com (they are colored and make the place look bright, colorful and friendly) and stools from Ikea. I can share pictures of our center, if someone is interested.

Running a summer camp all mornings and have class in the afternoons and am the new CFO of The Future project (please see www.thefutureproject.org - we launch in October, so I am scrambling to put all the financial controls and systems in place and raise $600K!), so am a little swamped....promise to be more helpful from August 10!

Hi everyone,

Sorry for not adding comments up to now. I was on vacation for a week
and were too busy doing multiple things when I got back home :)

I hope you are doing well and things are advancing the way you want
and expect them to happen :)

I finished and submitted my second BP draft and will submit my third
and last one after the consultation with my Branding Team Rep.

My site got approved before training 1-4. The landlord is going to
give me a draft lease. It's still in the works :) Btw, there are only
certain colors that we are allowed to use for the center. I am not
sure if you guys saw the poster in the sample Kumon center next to the
training room. Remember to consult with your BTR before painting the
center.

I have a couple of worksheets booklets to do and I will be done with
that too (my god...this is a lot of work)

Bala, I am very much interested in your center's pictures. Can you
please send them to me? I saw these chairs at Ikea in Montreal which
are solid and look solid and also on special:
