Hello Magnus,

Thank you for your continued patience as we work to assist you.

Please understand that the FaderPort classic cannot be updated on a USB 3.0 connection.

You will need to connect and update your FaderPort on a computer that has USB 2.0 connections.

You have some viable options.

- Find any other computer with USB 2.0 connection and update.

Or

- Use a commonly available powered USB 2.0 hub. Connect the FaderPort to this and update."

Yes I am getting the same error msg. Have followed the instructions and tried everything I can think of or have read on forums etc but still get the 0x8004005 error msg. The current firmware is reading as 1.0 and am attempting to update to 1.45.

I posted this same answer to a similar question about FaderPort 8... it's a weird answer but if you are stuck it's something to try: I had that same issue with my FaderPort 8 on the old firmware when it arrived last month, and also two years ago when I plugged in my Studio 192 Mobile with old firmware... in BOTH instances i was using the cheap supplied USB cable from PreSonus. The way I got the 192 to be recognized and connect was using a $40 digital USB cable, the ones that people say are snake oil. In almost 2 years my 192 has NEVER failed to spin right up now on this cable, and it's just on USB 2.0, not even 3.0 which isn't even necessary. Soooo, the FaderPort 8 shows up last month, and guess what... I could get it to connect in Windows 10, but it would hang when trying to actuallyt run it, and it wouldn't show up in UC. Frustrating. So I unplugged the digital cable from the 192 and tried that on the FaderPort 8, and I think you can guess what happened: FaderPort showed right up in UC, and the firmware update went off without a hitch. I now own 3 of these cables, one for the 192, one for FaderPort 8 and one for my M-Audio CODE61 (black) controller. Google how many people struggle with the CODE series keyboards... locking up, needing rebooting. I had the 49 then sold it for the 61, and neither keyboard has locked up, not ONCE, using the digital cables. I know... this is a weird answer, but the $120 I spent on three lousy USB cables has turned my home studio experience into a joy, at least hardware wise. Those cables don't do anything for consumer peripherals, but for a clean path for a ton of data in music production, they work. Funny thing is, the $40 version is the lower end! They make digital USB cables that cost about $80 and $120! The $40 one is perfecto for a digital music studio.

I've noticed that everyone seems to be saying doing it on a old (Windows 7 isn't very "old" if you ask me, I still use it) Win 7 machine worked. However I'm running said machine, 64-bit. And still doesn't work. I've tried plugging into the 2.0 ports on my tower, nothing has worked. I tried plugging it into the 2.0 hub built into my desktop monitor, still didn't work. Hell I even tried plugging it into a newer windows 10 laptop with only usb 3.0 ports and that still did not work. I don't know what the issue is here! I bought mine used, but looks like perfectly new condition off of ebay. There really shouldn't be a problem here. Similar problems i've had with my Audiobox 22VSL; as much as I like Presonus products, they've never been so "plug and play" for me in my experience, sadly. I hope someone has a real solution for this.

I did the update to v1.45 today with an old HP Elitebook 8540p Notebook running on Win10 x64. I used the newest UC Version which is available since Nov 19. Update took a few minutes but it worked well. Now Im running my old Faderboard on v1.45.

HP only currently has the R70 - 1.25.0.0 listed on the HP website.

there is some type of disconnect or error in the version being sent to and distributed by Microsoft windows update
that causes a problem with the newer version being fully installed on my elitebook

I downloaded and reboot. However, the firmware do not get installed correctly. Every time, when I reboot my system, it will stated that your system is being updated momentarily. After completed reboot, there will be a notification stated that reboot is required to install HP Firmware R91.

what I do is reverted my system using my full system. Backup (backed up by EaseUS Todo Backup) to before I download and installl the HP Firmware update 1.26.00. The update still show up in Windows Updates - advanced Setting, but u do noe check and install it.

It does not work on my HP Elite X2 G4. Pressing Shift while clicking shutdown. The message we are updating your system when restart still show up and after boot, prompt to restart still show up as well.

I have two HP 840 G6 laptops. One downloaded and installed the 1.26 BIOS successfully. The other downloaded it, keeps telling me a restart is needed to install it, but it doesn't install. No idea what's going on.

Received my Ally yesterday, and went through the updates from Windows 11, ASUS Armory Crate SE, and the Windows Store. After updating the firmware, the device rebooted, and seems to be attempting to re-run the firmware update utility. When it does so, the application has a progress bar that doesn't seem to update at all. Not sure how to proceed.

Just got my Asus rog ally two days ago!! After 30 minutes of testing games, the lights on both analog sticks aren't working anymore and the command center and Armoury crate buttons aren't working I have tried the followings: 1: soft reseted the device local 2: hard rest from the bios 3: rolled back the bios to 3.17 4: updated everything in windows and restarted 5: turned off the console for more than 30 minutes Nothing worked what shall I do next this is really disgusting I have never faced such a thing before!!

Firmware upgrades allow network administrators to utilize the latest features and security enhancements on their Meraki devices. The Cisco Meraki dashboard allows admins to easily schedule and reschedule firmware upgrades on their networks, opt in to beta firmware releases, view firmware change log notes, and set maintenance windows. This article outlines the functions of the firmware upgrades tool in the dashboard, as well as additional considerations for using and managing firmware.

The firmware upgrades tool in the dashboard allows organization admins to quickly and easily manage firmware versions on a per-network and per-device type basis. Additionally, the firmware upgrades tool can be used to schedule, reschedule, and cancel bulk upgrades of networks, view firmware change log notes, view firmware version numbers, and roll back the firmware on a recently upgraded network.

Keeping up-to-date on firmware allows administrators to utilize the latest features and ensures that the latest security enhancements are running on their hardware. Admins can upgrade to the latest stable or beta firmware. Follow the steps below to schedule a firmware upgrade.

Note: When downgrading from a beta firmware to a stable firmware, a feedback request page will be presented. Please select any options that reflect the downgrade reason before selecting Schedule change for network.

Note: Firmware upgrades can be scheduled up to one month in advance and can only be deferred/rescheduled for one month at a time. Cancelling scheduled firmware upgrades does not exclude a given network from future scheduled upgrades.

Change log notes are maintained on a per-firmware version basis and include information about new features, bug fixes, and known issues that are associated with a particular firmware version. Follow the steps below to view the firmware change log notes.

Firmware upgrade barriers is a built-in feature to prevent certain upgrade paths on devices running older firmware versions trying to upgrade to a build that would otherwise cause compatibility issues. Having devices use intermediary builds defined by Meraki will ensure a safe transition when upgrading your devices.

Here is an example of when firmware upgrade barriers come into effect. You might find yourself in a situation where you are unable to upgrade a device for an extended period of time due to uptime or business requirements. There is a switch in the network that is running MS 9.27 and would like to update to the latest stable version, which at the time of writing, is 11.30. Attempting to upgrade from 9.27 to 11.30 will not be a selectable option in the dashboard and administrators will have to upgrade to 10.35 first.

In order to complete the upgrade from the current version to the target version, two manual upgrades will be required. The first from your current to the intermediary version, and another from the intermediary to your target version.

In this state wheel base cannot be turned off nor mode cannot be changed. Reconnecting USB wheel bases is not recognized neither Windows nor Fanatec Control Panel. Power has to be turned off (power supply cut off) for wheel base to be recognized again.

I rebooted the wheel base as prompted (this time wheel base responsed to power button). USB connection was established again. As nothing happened for several minutes I clicked on Flash Firmware button. FirmwareUpdaterEufe.exe instantly stopped working. Had to close it.

Here is an expanded view of Hardware manager with the needed "View options set - Devices by container & Show hidden devices".(Devices by Container = Organises devices nicely, (Hidden mode shows all things currently not active (Ghosted icons), but have been used / active on your system before, it also shows all things active (Dark Black icons).

As you cycle the modes of your CS DD+ with the correct button combo on you wheel, each mode should be detected and the devices loaded and made active in the "Windows Device Manager -> Fanatec" sections, take note when in PS or Xbox mode the devices will disappear from the "Fanatec's Control Panel" and just say it is in PS or Xbox mode.
