Earlier this year, I decided to transfer over to a daytime schedule
at work, so that I would be able to have my evenings free for
attending more of y'all's performances, and maybe performing more
myself. That request was granted, and I was to start a new schedule
on April 13 that would get me out of work at 5 pm Wednesdays and
Thursdays and 2 pm on Fridays. I was eager to go to that schedule,
though it did mean a loss of the 10 percent differential pay I was
getting for working nights.

Note the phrasing -- "was to start."

Just this last Thursday, March 13, I was offered a new position at my
workplace -- effective right the freak now. It has different duties
than what I've done for the past six years, and it's a small
promotion from my old job, so the pay will probably be about the same
as I have been getting, after the increase in the base rate and the
loss of night diff cancel each other out.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:30 am to 7 pm.

So, I will still be showing up to open mics and song circles, but I
won't be coming early. I'm still excited about having most of my
evenings free, every evening. And there's a two-week training
period, starting March 16, during which I'll be working 8:am to 4:30
pm, so I'll be at this month's Songpull early as usual. I have a
sacrilegious new song that those of you who have heard it seem to really like.

For those of you who run open mics and songwriter showcase nights, I
hope to be able to work with you, and to be swooping down from the
airport to downtown, midtown, Westport or where-have-you after 7 pm
on a fairly regular basis.

John, personally I'd like to have you there early at all the events.  However, I'll take what I can get.  It will "just" be good seeing and hearing more of you.....see you soon...........Larry
