We are seeking a resource for a contact resource to assist with a legacy system re-write.  The application is being written on a Grails framework which is replacing the legacy .NET based code.  The project is expected to be delivered by the end of the year.  This application handles operational data with a customer-facing portal.  The job will entail:

• Collaborate on new software development based on requests from business and technical leadership.
• Interface with clients, project team, and senior management to develop solutions which facilitate the integration of business processes.
• Work with the technical team to design, develop, and deploy the application using 6 week hybrid waterfall / Sprint methodology.
• Support existing systems and functionality during the transition.

Qualifications

This role requires 5-6 years experience developing Java-based enterprise-level web based applications and the related data systems.  In addition to strong Java/Hibernate & Groovy/Grails expertise a blend of the following is necessary:

• Web: JavaScript / HTML, JBoss, Perl, ExtJS, Ruby, VB Script
• Database: SQL Server & Oracle, SQL, DB Visualizer or TOAD, XML, PL/SQL, Business Objects
• Internet protocols: FTP, HTTP, IP, etc..

In addition the team supports Java based applications so candidates must be flexible enough to diagnose and remedy issues in C# /ASP.NET / nHibernate.
