About GRACE Ministries of the UMC (From web)
This
faith-based organization was established to address the most pressing material
and spiritual needs of low-income immigrants in the region and to empower
immigrants to become community leaders. GRACE Ministries provides emergency
food, clothing, household items and diaper distribution and healthcare
information at seven United Methodist Churches in Northern Virginia.
GRACE
Ministries also provides job training programs for personal care aides,
certified nurse aides and for CDL/ESL training for school bus drivers. This
combination of services is meant to provide as assistance to ease emergency
situations and also provide a more long-term employment solution that will
offer career opportunities in areas of significant workforce needs.
Existing
since January 1999, GRACE Ministries is an independently incorporated
501(c)(3), community outreach program of the Arlington District of the United
Methodist Church.

Statement
GRACE
Ministries of the United Methodist Church is a community outreach program
serving low income families living in Northern Virginia.
Your
support helps us gather resources to address the varied needs of families from
many nations.
Food, clothing and diaper
distributions are held monthly at seven area churches:

Culmore UMC – Falls Church, VA
·
Floris UMC – Herndon, VA
·
Mount Olivet UMC – Arlington, VA

St. Stephens UMC – Burke, VA
GRACE Ministries also offers three
job training programs:

Personal Care Assistant (PCA)
Training - students are prepared to become home health aides. English as a
Second Language (ESL) training is included in the class.

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Training - students are prepared to become

Fairfax County school bus drivers.

Multicultural Certified Nurse Aide
(CNA) training - students are prepared to become nurse aides at nursing homes,
hospitals, assisted living facilities and home health care agencies.

The Grace Ministries Purchases food

The Church purchases diapers from Wal-mart.
$1000/ month from the Church fund.
Many Volunteers needed

Elementary children welcome. Fifth
graders also volunteer to distribute diapers.

Runners (쇼핑카트에 담아서 차에 실어주는
