Role: Power BI Lead – Azure & Databricks

Skills: Power BI (Advanced DAX, Data Modeling, RLS), Azure DevOps, Git, Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, ADLS, Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake), SQL

Key Responsibilities:

 

• BI Strategy & Architecture

• Define BI architecture aligned with enterprise data strategy using Power BI, Azure Synapse, and Databricks.
• Establish best practices for data modeling, semantic layers, and visualization standards.

• Solution Delivery

• Lead development of dashboards, reports, and self-service BI solutions.
• Oversee integration of data pipelines from Azure Data Factory and Databricks into BI tools.

• Performance Optimization

o Implement performance tuning for Power BI (DAX, aggregations) and Databricks workloads. Monitor cost and resource utilization across BI and data platforms.

• Governance & Security

• o Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory standards.
• o Implement row-level security (RLS) and workspace governance in Power BI.

• Collaboration & Leadership

• o Gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and manage expectations.
• o Mentor BI developers and analysts; enforce coding and visualization standards.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• Education:                  Bachelor’s/master’s in computer science, Information Systems, or related.

• Experience:                10 years in BI and data analytics; 5+ years in leadership roles.

• Technical Skills:       Power BI (Advanced DAX, data modeling, RLS), Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, ADLS, Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake), SQL expertise.

• Tools:                            Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD for BI solutions.

• Soft Skills:                  Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership.

 

Preferred:

 

• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and modern BI architectures.

• Experience with data governance tools (Purview).

• Certifications: DP-500 (Azure Enterprise BI), DP-203 (Data Engineering).
