Dear Peacemakers,

The recent budget agreement, the threats to shut down the government and the far right long term budget proposal slashing basic functions of government and leaving excessive military budgets intact, underscores the need for those who believe a just and peaceful world is possible to speak up.

We need to invest in jobs, people and our future not cut social programs and nor cut taxes for huge corporations and the super wealthy!

We invite you to visibly support a reprioritizing of our nation's budget and policies at the

"Our Tax$ for Human Need- Not Wars and Greed" demonstration.

Please join us on Tuesday, April 12, 4:30 to 6:00pm at 12th & Main, KCMO for a creative and powerful demonstration which will include:

· Thirty-foot banner depicting the FY’12 discretionary budget showing the disproportionate amount of the federal budget that is spent by the Pentagon and the wars, relative to all other discretionary spending;

· Pres. Eisenhower, portrayed by Dr. Bill Worley, delivering excerpts of his Farewell Address and Iron Cross speeches;

· Sharon Lockhart as the Statue of Liberty speaking of freedom, justice and the common good;

· Billionaires for Bankruptcy sharing how well current economic policy is working for them and more.

We can also use your help with leafleting, holding banners, engaging passers-by with our budget poll… and we can use a few more billionaires and someone to deliver excerpts from Dr. ML King’s speeches.
