Dear Sir/Madam

National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), is an MHRD project involving 7 IITs and IISc. NPTEL now offers an enhanced version of Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs), called NPTEL Online Courses (NOC). Each NOC includes an in-person, invigilated exam. Successful candidates therefore receive a performance verified certificate, which can be authenticated online. More than 1000 candidates have received certificates so far. NOCs will be offered on a variety of subjects, and nearly 200 courses are expected to be offered in the next several months.

 Use of NOCs in Curriculum*:

1)            To enable students to earn credits in specific topics

2)            For additional special courses – possibly for an honours programme

3)            To highlight accomplished candidates during placement

*College/University may consider these options, and if necessary contact NPTEL to formalize the process

 In the brochure attached here, please find the list of 11 courses to be offered, the enrolment and course duration dates alongwith the url where these courses are available. Enrollment for the course does not involve any cost while there is a small fee for taking up the certification exam.

 We request you to kindly forward this email to your faculty and students so that they may enroll, learn and benefit from these courses.
