Announcement of 2019 Chinese New Year Celebration Gala
The Kansas City Chinese Association (KCCA) announces that it will host its annual Chinese New Year Celebration Gala on February 9, 2019, at the Carlsen Center at Johnson County Community College (JCCC). This event is an annual cultural outreach program and fund-raising occasion to benefit the year-round cultural programs and services provided by KCCA to both the Chinese-American and greater Kansas City metropolitan area communities.
The Gala is the largest and most important event of the year. It is a night of family gathering, entertaining theatrical performances, and great company. This year, the celebration will include exciting performances on stage such as folk dancing, classical songs, musical performances, choruses from local Chinese and American art performance groups, and a program provided by an art school from Beijing, China. Additionally, special activities for children will be included in the festivities.
Pre-show activities will run from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm. The Gala show will be held 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm in the school’s Yardley hall. Carlsen Center at JCCC is located at 12345 College Blvd, Overland Park, KS 66210.
No ticket is required for Pre-show (cultural showcase & entertainment activities). Tickets are required for Gala show, and can be purchased online in advance. Prices for the show, which includes a complimentary one-year KCCA membership when purchased in advance through KCCA, is $12/ticket on or prior to January 25, 2019 or $15/ticket after January 25, 2019.
