Do you know an innovative teacher? Here's your chance to lift them up by nominating them for the KCACTF/ATHE Innovative Teacher Award.
KCACTF and the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE) have partnered to create two awards for Innovative Teaching.
- One for a current teacher doing innovative work
- One for a graduate student who displays innovative work.
Nominations:
Nominations can come from any source, self-nominees included. To make a nomination, email the name of your nominee and the supporting materials listed below to:

Current Teacher nominees submit:
- CV
- Teaching philosophy statement
- Letter of recommendation
- One-page statement that describes how their work is innovative in regard to student success in the area of theatre arts
Graduate student nominees submit:- CV
- Letter of recommendation
- One-page statement that describes how the nominee is innovative in regard to their studies and/or research.
Award Recognition:Winners receive a plaque, ATHE membership waiver for one year, and conference fee waiver for one year. The prizes can be awarded to any teacher and graduate student in the region and it is desirable that her or his affiliated institution be a KCACTF participating school.
These prizes will be awarded by an ATHE representative at the Region 3 festival in Madison, Wisconsin, January 7-12, 2020
