Dear KCACTF Region III,

We are thrilled to announce the following participants who will take part in the National Playwriting Program (NPP) events for the Region III festival in Madison in January. We had another year with a record number of submissions, making the process of choosing this year's slate especially difficult.

The following Ten-Minute and One Act plays listed below were selected through a blind reading process by readers from Region I and will receive an invitation to the Region III festival. Please join me in congratulating these playwrights!

Ten-Minute Plays:

by Kaela Garvin – Indiana University

Darn it! Darla

by Lavinia Roberts – University of Southern Illinois at Carbondale

Don’t Mention It

At the regional festival two of the six Ten-Minute plays will be nominated for the Gary Garrison National Ten-Minute Play Award, and two of the four One Act plays will be nominated for the John Cauble Award for Outstanding Short Play, both of which will be announced at the National festival gathering later in 2020.

In addition to the plays listed above, we are also delighted to announce the winners of the Region III Full-Length Play Award (and Region 3 NAPAT Nominee), and the Region III Planet Earth Award, both of which will be invited to the regional festival and presented as a staged-reading.

Please join me in congratulating the following playwrights!

Bury the Rest

by Syke Robinson Hills – Ohio University

Region III Planet Earth Award Winner:

Thank you to all the playwrights who submitted work, and to their faculty mentors who continue to encourage the development of new work in our region.
