The selection committee is pleased to announce the productions invited
to Festival 42 in Saginaw this January:

Two one acts from Journeys 2009: Exploring the Edge at Southern
Illinois University at Carbondale:
“Drowned” by Jeff Nichols, directed by Courtney Self
“Box Office: A History” by Steve Ackerman, directed by Ellen Conn
Performs in the Black Box Theatre Thur Jan 7 at 9am, 11:30am, 2pm and
6:30pm

Honest by Eric Simonson, directed by Herschel Kruger from Carthage
College
Performs in the Malcolm Ford Theatre Thur Jan 7 at noon and 8pm

True West by Sam Shepard, directed by Elliot Wasserman from the
University of Southern Indiana
Performs in the Black Box Theatre Fri Jan 8 at 10am and 3pm and Sat
Jan 9 at 10am and 3pm

“The Bald Soprano” & “The Lesson” by Ionesco. directed by Patricia
Helsel from Michigan Technological University
Performs in the Malcolm Ford Theatre Fri Jan 8 at noon and 4pm

Censored on Final Approach written and directed by Phylis Ravel from
Marquette University
Performs in the Temple Theatre Fri Jan 8 at 8am

Good Death created by the company, directed by Kelli Simpkins from
Western Michigan University
Performs in the Malcolm Ford Theatre Sat Jan 9 at 10am and 2pm

“Courtship” and “Valentine's Day” by Horton Foote, directed by John
David Lutz from the University of Evansville
Performs in the Temple Theatre Sat Jan 7 at 8pm

Other exciting events at the festival include:

Inaugurating our Fringe festival the one man show Just Kidding by Alex
Clothier of Kalamazoo College special late night performances. The
Fringe will also include Unrehearsed Shakespeare and a play reading by
regional faculty.

Design entries are up by 100 this year!

Final Registration for Ryans and Partners is now open and due by
December 29. www.kcactf3.org/qbforms/ryan_registration.htm You must
register in this site to schedule you audition slot, even if you have
sent us the nomination information already.

Festival registration is open for all on the website as well and may
be done by faculty or individual students. Faculty may sign up for
the Faculty Dinner where we will honor and recognize faculty members
who have made significant contributions to the region, as we will also
recognize the participating shows.

The complete schedule is not available yet, but last year’s program is
on the website under Archives if you want to get an idea of when
things happen. The Ryan schedule is virtually the same.
