Sir Knights of the First District of Texas. This year we celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the birth of our Nation. I have spoken with some of you on a program to help honor and celebrate this great milestone in our nations' history.
Our own District Mashal, Sir Knight Robert Alcala has put together just such a program for Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 09:00am.

We will host a Patriotic Rosary to recognize our Nation, National and Local Leaders and all Veterans both past and present. The rosary will take place at the Hemicycle of the Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. This event is open to all knights and their families. Sir Knights should wear their uniform, and all other knights should wear their council apparel.

Parking will be limited to a first come, first serve basis. All those attending who wish to sit, please bring your folding chairs.

The State Deputy, Bob Goss will be in attendance along with other State and Diocesan leaders in reciting the rosary. This is the first of such events we are looking to establish for our district. All Navigators and Comptrollers, please send me a list of all Sir Knights that have pasted away from your assembly this fraternal year. If you know they served in the military, please include their branch of service. I don't need their dates of service, just the branch they served.

This is a special day in the life of our Nation, and I think this will be a very special day for the First District, but we need your help to make it even that much more special. Please get this out to all your Sir Knights and pass it down to your council Grand Knights. Let's have a great turnout for this event from every assembly and council in the First District of Texas.

God Bless America,
James Hatcher
District Master
