Sir Knights of the First District. Since I sent out the announcement about the event at the Houston National Cemetery on July 4, 2026, I have had many replies that many of our assemblies participate in local parades for the 4th of July in their area. I can appreciate your commitment to these parades. In putting our event together at the Houston National Cemetery, Sir Knight Robert Alcala had to get approval not only by the Houston National Cemetery but also through the head of the V.A. Cemeteries in Washington D.C. In no way was this event to take place of place local events you have participated in for several years. The 250th Anniversary only comes every 250 years. If you cannot make it due to commitment for your local parades, please send in your list of Sir Knights that have passed away this fraternal year so we can honor them in prayer.

God Bless America,
James Hatcher
District Master
