My fare - senior - was great, $22.10 one way. Cheaper than Greyhound
or Megabus.
Good group of pax - about as many boarded at Kirkwood as at the
origination
point and quite a few got off at Lees Summit so on both ends of the
run the
suburban stops are popular.
Best way to get across the state. If you haven't done it lately this
is a good
time since the afternoon westbound leaves at 5 15 and would give you a
few hours
in STL if you wanted to go over for lunch at Landry's Seafood
Restaurant in
Union Station - a reasonable walk west from Gateway Station.

If you have never ridden or it's been awhile, here's a great opportunity.
Amtrak doesn't have a problem with ''picnic baskets'' so save some money and
take your own snacks.

Nice videos, Dick. Thanks for taking them and posting the link.
Did you notice the speed seems faster when the camera is pointed toward the
rear, and slower when pointed toward the front?
I wonder if that is some kind of luminescence Doppler shift? ;-)
Or perhaps my brain has become unbalanced?
