For at least five days, one of Amtrak’s roundtrips between St. Louis and
Kansas City will be suspended because freight traffic is being diverted
from flooded areas.
The canceled roundtrip is Missouri River Runner’s 311, the morning
westbound train from St. Louis and train 316, the afternoon eastbound
train from Kansas City.
That roundtrip will be cancelled beginning today and through at least
Wednesday.
Train officials said some alternate transportation by motor-coach will be
provided and the cancellation does not affect Missouri River Runner Trains
313 and 314 or Amtrak Southwest Chief Trains 3 and 4 out of Kansas City.
