KANSAS CITY, Kan. —The stepmother of a missing 7-year-old boy
was booked into the Wyandotte County Jail early Thursday morning.
Heather Jones, 29, is being held on suspicion of first-degree
murder and intentional and premeditated abuse of a child,
torture or cruelly beating a child, according to the jail's log.
Her husband, Michael A. Jones, 44, was charged with one count of
aggravated battery, one count of aggravated assault with a
firearm, and one count of child abuse for allegedly beating his
wife and torturing his 7-year-old son, Adrian.
Human remains were discovered in a pigsty on the couple's
property near 99th Street and Hutton Road last month.
Kansas City, Kansas, police, were called to the home on a report
of armed domestic disturbance. They searched the property after
being told the boy was missing and might be dead. The remains
have not been identified.
No charges have been filed against Michael Jones in connection
with his son's disappearance or the discovery of the remains.

Too bad kansas does not enforce the death penalty. These people
