On Sunday, July 1, 8 people came to knit and crochet prayer shawls
together. Some had places or people in mind for their shawls (some
patients at St. Joseph are going to be very blessed people!); others
wanted to "send a shawl out into the universe", which in our case, is
House of Menuha. Sr. Annie put out a call for a House of Menuha
client and Deb hastily completed her "99 Names" crocheted shawl and
delivered.
Other deliveries:
Laura Gayle (our Thursday nite facilitator) delivered a shawl to a
very ill aunt in Virginia.
Deb sent of her cabled shawl with pockets to a family member in
Houston recovering from bone marrow transplant, and encouraged the
caregiver there to snuggle up under it too.
Caryn (our other crocheter) is over halfway through the Chiefs shawl
she is making for her dad and has decided to embroider family names
onto it when she is done.
Any other shawl stories out there?
The next shawl gatherings are: Thursday, July 12, 6-7:30 pm and
Sunday, August 5, 1:30-3 pm. Please come, and please invite friends.
