Three women joined me at the Prayer Shawl Ministry gathering this last
Sunday afternoon, two returning and one new (and she's a
crocheter!!!)
And I left with THREE prayer shawls for House of Menuha and their
Pioneer Program for women in domestic violence shelters -- or whoever
Sr. Annie recognizes as in need of a prayer shawl hug! This will make
a total of 5 we have donated to House of Menuha, and Andrea-three of
them have been in your donated yarn!
I will deliver them this week, once I photograph them. I have this
idea that I would like to start a photo gallery on our google group,
with photos of prayer shawls we are making, and information about the
yarn and patterns we are using. After all, we are all yarn loving
people and like to talk about this kind of stuff. I know that some of
you are out there making prayer shawls NOT at the Studio events, which
may require you to learn new skills. It is certainly going to require
me to learn new skills, as I have been relying on Laura Gayle for this
kind of thing!
Don't forget, tho', you can always drop a finished shawl by the Studio
with my name on it and staff will call me to come pick it up.
I am making a prayer scarf right now--for a water aerobics buddy of
mine who just lost her mother. She is the marketing director of
Halls, didn't seem quite the shawl type, or any that I would be
capable of making. so I am knitting a scarf using Noro Silk Garden in
fall colors, which she said were her mom's favorite colors.
What are you knitting (or crocheting)?
