Anyone try to 3D Print carbon fiber?

I'm working on a 300 and 250 sized FVP Quadcopter frame and I'm not getting the rigidity out of ABS I want or it gets too heavy.

I might try to machine some 2024 aluminum prop arms but carbon fiber printing would be better.

Or anyone having any luck with quad racer frames out of another material?

I need mire information? Are you designing your own parts? The Thingiverse link below says to use ABS with 50% infill for the parts. If you are printing that quadcoptor then increase your infill. I would think you want it to flex so it does not break the frames when it crashes?

Not finding carbon fiber to be the great filament that I thought it would be? I may need to work with it more to  get the designs and printing all fine tuned.

Carbon fiber filament isn't billed as stronger. It can be lighter but really it shrinks less and is used for parts that need dimensional accuracy. Honestly, any material would work work at the right design and infill percentage. Come to the round table tonight at the Maker Studio! PET and Nylon are strong as well.

Per volume I don't think the carbon fiber material is stronger but it is more stable, less shrink and I can increase cross sections and stay at the same weight.

I've started machining aluminum components now, so I'll go that way install of the 3D printed carbon fiber parts.

I wish I could go to Maker Studio but I live almost 2 hours away,  Anything going on this weekend?  I'll be in town most of Saturday and Sunday.

Is there a good hobby store for quadcopters and FPV type flying components?

I forgot to tell you about plastic metal from Shapeways. You should check it out.
