Cycle route from Colne Road to Queens Mill Road/Damside

Hello,
You may be aware of the recent construction works on Colne Road which
are still under construction.

Currently a kerb has been installed across the existing cycle route
from Colne Road to the cycle crossing across the river to Queens Mill
Road.

This is unacceptable and a complaint has been made.

However the design was sent for consultation with KBUG and other
groups on the 30th November. Looking at the plan does not always
convey the detail, the height of a kerb for example was not shown on
the drawings. However our consultation process was weak at that time,
but no one would have expected a new design to effectively block a
cycle route.

This makes it more important to consult with KBUG members but some of
the consultations are not for public viewing until later on and
therefore we decided not to send details of all consultations to 400
members.

It is important that we continue to receive consultations and that we
make best efforts to ensure that detrimental works for cyclists are
not carried out, as in the above example.

So please reply if you would like to receive consultations and have
opportunity to comment.
