Hello all,
I sent the email below, with photos attached yesterday. However your mailbox is not able to receive it due to the large size. Therefore I am resending the ‘body’ of the email without the photos. For those of you, who are members of the “Dewsbury-Ossett Greenway Steering Group”, I will bring a copy of the best pictures to the next meeting, the date of which I believe is not yet confirmed.
Regards, Lynnette Evans.
Hello to:
Dewsbury East & Dewsbury South Councillors; Sustrans; KC Officer colleagues; Outdoor Dewsbury Festival; members of the Steering Group for the D-O Greenway project; our counterparts in Wakefield Council, and British Waterways -
Thank you for everyone’s contribution to last Thursday’s ‘Opening Event’ for Phase 1 of the new Dewsbury-Ossett Greenway and for your efforts in helping to bring this project to this exciting stage, where we now have a tangible route on the ground.
Please find attached the press coverage in the Yorkshire Post. The event was too late in the day for inclusion in last week’s Dewsbury Reporter, so I would expect their coverage to be in this Friday’s edition.
I also attach a few photos of the ‘ribbon-cutting’ element of the event, showing the Mayor and the other 3 Councillors who attended, in addition to Steven Hanley, Ifty Ahmed, Claire Wright (Sustrans), and some local cyclists, including the PCSOs from the Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Please note that Cllr David Sheard gave his apologies; he was otherwise engaged in Heckmondwike; and sadly no-one from the Council’s Strategic Housing; Strategic Planning, or Public Rights of Way sections were able to attend due to other commitments.
Please contact me, Steven, or use the specific project email address of: Dewsbury...@kirklees.gov.uk
should you require more information.
Regards,
Lynnette Evans
