A very nice step taken by the Odisha and Indian govt. I hope there will be couple of Santali Colleges and at-least one Santali University. Congratulation to the Santali community. Please make an effort to establish a Santali Sahitya Academy.

Dear Shri Das,
I agree with the points raised by you. However, I do not
think only globalization is responsible for extinction of languages. My
observation is that the people involved in the development and research of mainstream
languages of India are largely responsible for this. The multilingual education
program is a recent event in India. Dr. MK Mishra has done lot of research on
multilingual education in Odisha: http://www.nmrc-jnu.org/nmrc_img/Orissa-%20MLE%20status%20report.pdf
Because of the love and affection for mainstream languages; few people and groups are blocking the development of tribal and other Indian languages. People who were shouting only “Odia in Odisha” should support this move whole heatedly. I hope very soon Odisha will recognize Santali, Kosli and other languages as its official language.
Best regards,
Sanjib
This is just a fear psychosis created by few people. There is not much confrontation
of English with Odia.
Odia literature is declining. Now a day’s even plagiarized books are getting Sahitya Academy award.
