We are pleased to share with you a cutting-edge new study that reveals that 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗳 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱’𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱. 🌎

In the study, we analysed the comprehensive national assessments in 11 countries that nearly doubled the extent of recognised KBAs and revealed that many vital biodiversity sites remain outside protected areas. These updates expand the global conservation map and highlight urgent gaps, helping countries meet the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework goals.
