Hi All
Good to see quite a few of us on here.
I've still got my Honda CBF1000 manly used at weekends and the occasional longer touring tip. Also go out a few times a year with the CBF1000 forum on rides and try to get to mainland Europe once a year for a short holiday. This year I went down  through the Ardennes and along into Germany following the Mosel to the Rhine a trip we had done before with the old group.

Cheers
Pete

I have scanned in some predigital snaps of some of our trips to add to those I posted yesterday, and they can be found at:

France 2003 http://www.flickr.com/photos/jimcrud/sets/72157637612240445/  My first time abroad on a bike! Great shot of Pete changing his clutch cable (he was carrying a spare!), but thankfully none of me having my speedo cable changed at a Kwacker dealer, having tried to ride off with my disc lock on! Doh!

Glad you enjoyed the ride down memory lane, Martin. I have just found some more (I am off work with a stinking cold!) of the 2005 Ardennes/Mosel trip (you weren't on that one) and uploaded them here http://www.flickr.com/photos/jimcrud/sets/72157637631190215/  A few of Glynn's are mixed in with mine on this set, so hope he doesn't mind me posting them.
Great to look back and see Barry when he barely looked 40! LOL

Hi all. Really surprising to see my inbox fill up with new posts from old friends! Those pics from 2005 really brought back happy memories, thank you.

I stopped biking about 2007, after my dad passed away. Moved back home to Oldham and Sold my ER5 a year later, as I was not using it.

However hope to be back on the road soon with my dads old Ariel Huntmaster, 1957 vintage. 2 years / lots spent on a full strip down and rebuild.

Engine started about 3 weeks ago after being stood since 1981!

Looking forward to some nice ride outs again this summer. Would be nice to meet up at a bike meet maybe?

Pics attached, what I started with and what it looked like about 6 weeks ago.image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg

Kind regards, keep on biking!

Glyn.

Hi Glyn
Glad to hear you are coming back to biking, and the restoration looks very impressive! Love to see her when she's finished.
Cheers

Blimey, I have found one more trip I'd missed! Ardennes May 2004 http://www.flickr.com/photos/jimcrud/sets/72157637669641275/  Apologies for me on the tank, and I think Baz and Pete were ahead of their time with the Brokeback Mountain pose!

Great to see and hear some old friends on here. I'm still in a touch with a few of you guys and I've bumped into others over the years.

Still got the faithful zzr600 - she was nine years old last month and she was up on the ramp for most of July being serviced and having a front brake rebuild. Still pulls like a train and turns like an oil tanker, and scared myself silly around Silverstone on it ;-)

Have the 14 as well, and finally bought some hard luggage for it. Took her up to Wales and revisited some of those dirt track roads earlier this year.

Ride to live,

Bazza

Wow. You got to John O'Groats.

In May 2008 I did  1500 miles around Scotland as a tester for my around Europe trip but didn't get that far up.

Based myself in Inverness.

Great to see your pics.

Not all. The organiser of that trip didn't make it due to a mechanical breakdown. 15 miles south of Ullapool at 3pm on a Sunday.....in the rain......alone........
