Anyone had any experience with either datatool or meta alarms/
immobilisers and how they got on with them?

I have a Meta alarm fitted to my ER-5. It was fitted already when I bought
the bike. It works well and I have not had any problems with in in the 5
years I have had the bike.

think I had a datatool on the CBF, and also that Bloke has one on his VFR, both fine, no probs. The only thing to watch is that - like all alarms, I think -  they can drain the battery somewhat if the bike is left standing for a week or two, so when / before you fit the alarm, fit the wiring for an optimate; and when the bike is likely to have a rest, connect it up.

Hi Baz,

I had a meta alarm with an immobiliser on my ER5, which I had for 3
years and no problem at all. I used to leave my ER5 in the shed for
weeks over the winter, come the spring it always had enough charge in
the battery to start.

Just make sure it's fitted by someone who know's what they are doing
and it should be ok and not drain the battery.
