Just thought I'd make sure you, and those you know, are aware of what's happened to two of our KAUSTies when they were recently in Rome - on a train: a woman traveling alone and a Water Desal Center man traveling alone (both within the past 2 weeks) had a drink "accidentally" spilled on them; "friendly bystanders" helped to wipe them off and relieved them of their backpacks. The man was going to a conference and had his computer and passport in the pack. That means his KSA entry/exit visa was also part of the take!

If you or others you know might be traveling and using public transportation, you (and they) might want to be particularly alert to the current method of assault.

Don't know whether word of caution would go out to our fellow KAUST travelers, so I thought - in the interest of our Community - I'd do so.

PLEASE PASS THIS MESSAGE ALONG - to all you know who travel!

Regards,
adele
